STEPHANIE NAKAHARA-MYERS, nationally certified by Music Teachers National Association, holds a B.A. degree in Music from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a M.M. degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Northwestern University. She was a director of Baldwin Music Education Center and has also served on the faculties of the College of DuPage and Northwestern University School of Music Preparatory Piano Division. A winner of Calvin Concerto Competition and a member of National Honor Society, Mrs. Myers has performed with DuPage Symphony.
Mrs. Myers has written articles for Clavier Companion magazine (formerly known as Keyboard Companion). She is a highly sought-out adjudicator for local piano festivals and competitions. She is an active member of Illinois State Music Association, West Suburban chapter, having served in various capacities including the vice president serving as a program chair, AIM theory and performance chair, certification chair, and AIM scheduler. She just finished fulfilling her role as Program Chair for the second time, and serves as a Theory chair in 2012. She was voted as a "teacher-of the year" and received the recognition at 2011 Illinois State Conference.
She is a choir accompanist for a local church in Wheaton.
